Locations of Wonderland
BLACK SOULS II's map is stitched from Carroll's geography, Victorian shadow and Lovecraft's Dreamlands. These are the 13 named locations the game's achievements anchor to — each listed with the events that happen there and how many players have witnessed them. Percentages are Steam global data, July 2026.
Park of Fog
The misty threshold of Wonderland
Where most journeys through BLACK SOULS II begin — and where the Cheshire Cat plays. Over half of all players (52.8%) find him here, which makes the Park the closest thing the sequel has to a tutorial grounds. Return whenever you're stuck; the Cat's sideways hints update with story progress.
- Tomfoolery — Play with the Cheshire Cat52.8% of players
Lutwidge Town
Named for Charles Lutwidge Dodgson — Lewis Carroll's real name
Wonderland's town, wearing its author's birth name. This is where series veterans get their reunion: Red Hood, the first game's flagship heroine, waits here. The town anchors the early-to-mid game and the gallery of killer bosses that surrounds it.
- Old Friend — Meet Red Hood44.5% of players
Slaughterhouse
Original — where the Kidnappers take you
The place you reach by losing. Kidnapper enemies don't just kill — defeat ships you here, and the game logs it as 'Fresh Meat' (44.8%). Nearly half of all players have been, many deliberately: it's a real area with real content and a real exit. One of the sequel's clearest statements that losing is sometimes a route.
- Fresh Meat — Reach the Slaughterhouse by losing to a Kidnapper44.8% of players
Winterbell
Original — a castle of cold splendor
A grand, cold seat of power holding two of the game's better-hidden events: Mabel pours Hlanith Wine in the wine cellar — a Lovecraft Dreamlands vintage — and the ghost-finder Carnacki waits in the Throne Room for a witness to his last moments. Both events sit under 20%, so sweep the castle thoroughly.
- Humanity's Finest Creation — Get Hlanith Wine from Mabel in the wine cellar18.1% of players
- The Ghost-Finder — Meet Carnacki in the Throne Room and clasp his shoulder14.6% of players
Queensland
The Queen of Hearts' domain
The card-queen's country, home to the Mystery Maze — and to one of the game's most quietly unsettling encounters: meeting Alice in the maze, which only 21.9% of players ever do. The achievement's name is a warning: 'Don't Look'.
- Don't Look — Meet Alice in the Mystery Maze21.9% of players
Red Castle Frissel
The croquet grounds of the red court
Carroll's croquet made into a puzzle. On the castle's croquet grounds the Duchess offers a 'hint' toward completing it (23%) — her quotation marks, not ours. The castle belongs to the game's middle acts, where Wonderland's nobility starts taking a personal interest in you.
- Royal Croquet — Meet the Duchess on the croquet grounds for her hint23% of players
Walrus' Dwelling
Through the Looking-Glass — The Walrus and the Carpenter
The home of the poem's great devourer of oysters. Witnessing what passes between Wolris and the Duchess here ('Subaquatic Insanity', 26.4%) is one of the game's stranger optional scenes — two appetites meeting underwater.
- Subaquatic Insanity — Witness Wolris and the Duchess' encounter26.4% of players
Carroll River
Named for the author himself
The river bearing the author's name is the stage for one of the rarest events in the game: the meeting of Jubjub and the Chick ('The Two Birds', 10.7%). Reaching it requires keeping Humpty Dumpty's Chick storyline alive across the playthrough — the kind of long, quiet thread the sequel loves.
- The Two Birds — Witness Jubjub and the Chick's encounter10.7% of players
Beach of Grief
Original — where Wonderland goes to mourn
A shoreline named for what happens there. Kuti can flood it — and talking to her afterward ('Like a Fairy-Tale', 9.6%) is among the least-witnessed events in the game. If you find the beach changed, go find her.
- Like a Fairy-Tale — Talk to Kuti after she floods the beach9.6% of players
Temple
Where the Snow Queen's thread resolves
The Temple hosts the delicate end of the Gerda and Kai storyline — Andersen's Snow Queen children, whose thread is the strictest in the game. Meet Gerda here without her having died and without Kai killed, choose to help her search for her brother, and 'The Snow Girl' (14.1%) is yours; the Fairy Tale [The Snow Queen] (11.5%) hangs on the same thread.
- The Snow Girl — Meet Gerda and help her look for her brother14.1% of players
Lion's Fort
Through the Looking-Glass — the Lion and the Unicorn
The Lion's seat, held by Leiden. Her storyline requires saving her from Mabel first — then finding her here ('The Lion and the Unicorn were fighting for the crown...', 12%). Her counterpart Unis, the Unicorn, carries the rarest choice in the game: sparing her after her betrayal (8.6%).
- The Lion and the Unicorn were fighting for the crown... — Talk to Leiden after saving her from Mabel12% of players
Library
Where the Fairy Tales belong
The heart of the sequel's collectible layer. Every Fairy Tale you find can be set in the Library's bookshelf, and setting all of them unlocks 'Sweet dreams' (15.3%) — rarer than two of the game's endings, lost mostly to forgetfulness. Make shelving a ritual on every visit.
- Sweet dreams — Set all the fairy tales in the bookshelf15.3% of players
The Moon
Lovecraft — the Dreamlands' lunar horror
Yes, you can visit the Moon. The achievement is named 'Nuclear Chaos' (24%) — an open Lovecraft signature, naming the blind idiot god at the center of things. Together with the Hlanith Wine and the Serpent God's curse (25.3%), it's the clearest window into the cosmic layer under Wonderland's fairy-tale skin.
- Nuclear Chaos — Visit the moon24% of players
What about BLACK SOULS' locations?
The first game's achievements track bosses and endings rather than places, so the Lost Empire's geography is best experienced through theBLACK SOULS walkthrough, which routes its areas phase by phase. This page will grow location entries for the first game as verified area data is added.
